Remember the Cinnamon challenge?
The Mannequin challenge? The Harlem Shake? & of course the Ice Bucket Challenge (But this was for a good cause which is in support of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ALS) And of course we all remember the Kiki challenge that was the highlight of Summer 2018. All these challenges went viral because of what? The laughs? The celebrities and the influencers participating? Because it's a trend? Throughout the years of having internet at our fingertips, people were the factor that made different things go viral. and most of them were to laugh at someone. Well we don't want it to be viral but if it can be then why not? the more the merrier! Dream big they say. #WorldKindnessDay was just around the corner last Tuesday so I took the chance to start the initiative of #NovemberKindnessChallenge which aims to spread the message that kindness has the power to turn things around. People need to be more self aware of their actions so this is a way of raising awareness to some acts that have the power to change things for us and for others even if we don't see the impact right away. Science talk: Altruistic (selfless) and strategic kindness, according to the brain scans, activate different segments of the brain. When you're being strategic, the striatal regions of the brain, which give feelings of reward, light up, and you get a rush of positive feelings. But when you're being generous without wanting anything in return, the brain also gives you feelings of reward — from some other areas. Normal talk: It reflects on us before anyone else. Random acts of kindness help us to heal, find our inner peace step by step, reach out to others and get out of our comfort zone to make someone's day better by just a smile. People won't lose anything if they practiced kindness. but they will gain a lot! Some just don't know it yet and that is our role here. We are capable of change. Change won't happen on its own. The world changes by our example and that is what we should do. We're here to evolve beyond our comfort zones and we will start with kindness. So what is the challenge? 14 days of Kindness with at least one act of kindness a day towards others and self-kindnenss. We can spread the message & challenge others to participate. The aim is to reach as many people as possible and make a different even on the smallest of scales. Follow me on Instagram @LameesShousha for tips on acts of kindness for motivation and to share the message to include others! Imagine how many people you can reach when studies showed that just one act of kindness can spread generosity to up to three more people! Just think about it and let it sink in. No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.
